When Yaelle Ripped Me Off
When I got up the next day, I was completely clear that Yaelle had ripped me off. I had a string of emails from Second Life that showed me everyone that Yaelle had been talking to and it was clear that she was trying to sell herself to other Masters. Worse, I had gotten a message that Yaelle had run away, indicated to me by her removing her collar. When I finally did reach Yaelle the next day, it was clear to me that she was chatting with someone else at the same time due to the delays in her text chatting. She told me that I should wait for her to be done with the other chat, something that a Second Life slave would never do. When a Second Life Master is on, they should always be the 100% priority of the slave. Nothing should be more important, except perhaps real life demands, but even those only with an explanation. I told Yaelle that when she was done with that chat she should chat with me and not log out of Second Life. At the end of that chat Yaelle logged out and I knew that I had been screwed.
When Yaelle finally logged back in she told me that she wanted all of her money right away because she needed it to pay her rent. I told her that I didn’t have the money and that I would continue to send money based on the payment agreement that we had made. Yaelle then told me that she would not be my Second Life slave until she was paid in full and that I was not being fair to her by not paying her in full that day. If Yaelle was not honorable enough to keep our payment arrangement I knew she wasn’t honorable enough to continue being my slave even after I paid her additional money. Not only is Yaelle a prostitute but she is also a thief who is willing to steal money from a disabled man.
What I did was go to the BDSM groups in Second Life and tell the members what had happened with Yaelle. Every person I chatted with said that I had been naive to buy a slave outside of an auction house, but that it was clear to them that Yaelle had been stolen from me. There were people in that group who were militantly angry that someone would come into their BDSM community and act in a dishonorable way. Later Yaelle logged into that same group and messaged me that they were rude people because they told her to spend time with me. Members of that group were also shocked that I had spent so much money to buy Yaelle. In the economy of Second Life, people are willing to work for only 200 Lindens, or about $0.77, an hour. I had given Yaelle 20,000 Lindens. I was too embarrassed to tell members of the group that this was only the first of three payments.
A day later, Yaelle was thrown out of the group by the others that I contacted. I mentioned to the leaders of the group that it was likely that Yaelle would logon to Second Life after creating a separate avatar. At least one group leader that I spoke to was so upset with Yaelle’s behavior that she said that she would block her if she ever logged back onto Second Life. She said that she would know her in the future by the way that she used language during her chat sessions no matter what avatar she logged in as. Yaelle told me that she was from a town outside of (town name) in France. For people who communicate by typed text chat, it is clear when someone is not a native English speaker.
Yaelle then made written claims to other members of the Second Life community that I was not paying her for the services as agreed. At this point, I filed a second complaint against Yaelle, this time for making defamatory claims against me. I could still not contact Linden Lab either by email or by phone.
